Cards - Birthday

Colorfusers January Blog Hop - Brrrr! Winter!

Happy New Year!  This card could have said CHAMPAGNE in honor of the new year,  but it was a HOT CHOCOLATE kind of day when I made it.  I love the Balloon Celebrations sentiments and they worked perfectly with this card.  And since my birthday is in January, I thought, this is a card I would love to get for a January birthday!

I experimented with first scoring the card top and then running it through the brick wall embossing folder.  It worked!  The card pops up to a stand up card!  I am sooo happy these Swirly Snowflake framelets were carried over from the Holiday Mini!  With temperatures hovering close to zero, frozen silver Snowflakes seemed appropriate!  The marina mist DSP is from the new spring mini catalog paper called Sweet Soiree.  The back of the designer's series paper (DSP) is really pretty also with silver highlights!  It was hard to choose which side to use.

Color Fusers November Blog Hop!

This nice combination of fall colors had me thinking of an autumn card, but I couldn't figure out what to do with the Blushing Bride color!  Since it is a skin tone, I decided to go with one of my favorite Stampin' Up! Sets, the Beautiful You, and the gorgeous tangerine DSP I was saving from the Foil Frenzy pack of paper.  This is where my thought processes took me.....

Lovely Word Thinlets Go Gorgeous!

Today I am using the Lovely Words Thinlets to make a birthday card for that special person that always looks put together so well.  Silver foil paper always looks soooo classy.  Add the silver from the designer's series paper pack with it and you cannot go wrong.  This is an out of the box card that makes use of both the space inside the heart and outside the heart giving you the feeling of someone looking into a mirror.

Lovely Word Thinlets Go Masculine!

Another one of my favorite items in the new catalog is the Wood Textures Designer's Series Papers.  Add them to a card and with little effort you have a professional looking masculine card.  Have a male friend in your life that you would like to thank or wish a happy birthday?  This card is just simple yet classy!  Again the Lovely Word Thinlets make this card look like a lot of effort but really take only a few minutes to create!  This time I used a little thicker oval frame around the word die.
