Cards - Christmas & Winter

Christmas in August???

The new Holiday Mini is fabulous with a lot of hidden gems in it.  Some of the sentiments are wonderful because they not only are large, they also have great fonts!  I have made this style of card many times before, but it is an oldie but goodie.  It holds a gift card and takes only a few minutes to make!  It is great for birthdays, weddings, practically any occasion.  The tree punch is discontinued.  If I had the holly punch in the current catalog, that would have been a great addition to this card!  The Christmas paper is Be Merry from our regular catalog and the sentiment is from the Swirly Snowflake Bundle.  Below the photos is a great tutorial for those of you that  are not familiar with this fold!

Great Specials Start Today!

Check out the great specials at www.stampinup.com !  A lot of the Holiday Mini sets are discounted.  In addition, Stampin' Up! is offering Stitched Framelets at a great price!  You will get ovals, circles and squares in the same set.  The sizes are wonderful for layering on cards!

Today's project is one from my retreat using the Here's to Cheers stamp set and cello bags that are large enough to cover loaves of bread and bottles of wine!  See pages 38 and 39 of the Holiday Mini for these items!  Plus this project uses the Pinecones and Presents Designer's Series Paper.  I plan on making a bunch of these and having them ready to take to hostesses!

AND they take only a few minutes to make!  See the tags below?  It will be even cuter when I get the new Stitched Framel, so when I cut those words out, they will be surrounded by little stitches!

Color Fusers Blog Hop: September 2016 - Part 2

It is always fun to turn something into something else.  The hard part is thinking of it!  I knew when I saw the Here's to Cheers Bundle that there was going to be a way to turn those tags into cards!  Here is one example of that using the Color Fuse Combo for September.

001 109

The colors and materials are similar to the first card I posted the first week in September, but by substituting the Here's to Cheers Bundle instead of the Pretty Pines Framelets, you get a totally different look!  The tag itself is the one that makes a hanger for a wine bottle, but if you cut it out twice and glue the front over the back opening, you get a really cute card embellishment.  Directions are on the TAMS link below.  Remember you may print them out for future reference!

Color Fusers Blog Hop: September 2016 - Part 1

Welcome to the Color Fuser's Blog Hop!  Our challenge for September was to use Mint Macaron, Rich Razzleberry, Sweet Sugarplum or Flirty Flamingo on a card design.

001

Since the Holiday Catalog has put me in the holiday mood, I decided to create two Christmas cards with this color combination.  Below is my first design and it works! Don't you just love the Pretty Pines Thinlets, Cable Knit Dynamic Embossing Folder, Presents and Pines DSP and Here's to Cheers Sentiments?  I think sending a Christmas card is like sending a little love, so I added little hearts to the wreath rather than berries using the Confetti Hearts Border Punch!
